Summit Farm Lessons

A lesson is not only about riding technique but also patience, safety, and fun. Summit Farm offers instruction for everyone from the beginner rider to the very experienced. Our students range in age from four years old to adult. We try to be accommodating by offering lessons on Tuesday through Sunday.

ONE ON ONE PRIVATE LESSONS - 30 min, 45 min, and one hour lessons are available.
If the student is a first time rider or hasn’t been in the saddle for a while we recommend starting with private lessons. Call for prices

PONY PRESCHOOL - for our youngest of riders. This class concentrates on getting the student comfortable on and around the pony, balance, strength, safety, and getting over any “jitters” they may have. This class is taught one on one and 15 min. and 30 min lessons are available. Call for prices.

GROUP LESSONS - 30, 45, and one hour lessons are available. Please note that it is mandatory for one private lesson to be taken to assess ability before being placed in a group lesson. Call for prices.

TRAIL LESSONS - Trail riding is one of the most enjoyable riding experiences you can have. Trail lessons teach the student how to have a safe ride by teaching the proper technique for hills, water crossing, mud brush, branches, and overhanging limbs. We are located directly on the North Salem Bridle Trails and surrounded by 69 acres of open land which allows us to have a variety of trails.

CENTERED RIDING- We offer centered riding lessons as well. Centered riding is to ensure HARMONY between horse and rider. Centered riding develops psychological images to enhance body awareness. The rider develops CONFIDENCE from the molding of body, mind and spirit, which leads to a PEACEFUL connection between horse and rider.

We also take pride in our program for children with special needs.

HUNTERS/JUMPERS and EQUITATION- Professional private instruction with expertise in showmanship. We focus on the individual goals and skill of the rider. We start our students off at schooling shows to get them comfortable with showing, and can take them all the way to the "AA" Circuit.
